Our dear friends, Clark and Nicole Saxey, invited us and our other friends, Mike and Tiffany Everett and kids, to spend New Year's Eve with them down in St. George. We were excited to do so! Nicole's mom and dad own a house down there so we packed up on Wednesday, December 30th, and headed on down! Between our families we have 13 kids, plus Tiff's daughter, Addison brought a friend. The house had a garage converted into a big bedroom and that's where we stuck all the kids! It was one ginormous sleep over! Poor Anela got sick on day 1 there, so she slept in our room on the floor. Addison and her friend slept in the den. Can't help but have fun when you're with a group this big! New Year's Eve was spent playing football, hanging out at the hot tub..brrr!, playing the Wii, going out to dinner to the Pizza factory (where we met up with Clark's sister, Sasha and her family...we were a BIG group!), the kids watched a movie from a projector while the adults played games, and we waited for THE time to bring in the NEW YEAR!
When the moment arrived, we gave the kids who managed to stay awake (that would be ALL of mine!) a pie tin and a spoon and we all went outside to make some noise!! We then came back inside and had a toast of sprite, root beer, sparkling cider, and coke. What a fun, fun time! The kids became great friends. Alakai had his first two 13 year old girlfriends, Addison and Hailey who he would NOT leave alone. Kekoa became wii buddies with the boys, Kanani taught all of the girls to make bracelets out of the strings she got for Christmas and we all ended up with one!, and Anela, when on Ibuprofen, was able to play a little, but spent a lot of time in bed.
This was such a great way to end the year 2009. What a busy, fun, memorable year it was. Many milestones were crossed and many more coming our way.
