Happy Birthday Our Beauty!

Happy 9th smiley girl! For having school and piano lessons fall on your birthday, you'd think that would put a damper on things ...not for Kanani. What a sweetheart she is! She took it all in stride and didn't complain a bit. We woke her up in the morning singing "Happy Birthday" and Dad was in town this time so what does that mean for the birthday child? She got to open her presents BEFORE school! (That could have made her whole day!)

She then chose to have Daddy's "special eggies" for breakfast. (mom can try to duplicate them but somehow hers lack that "special ingredient"--good thing dad was home!) I didn't make her practice the piano..again added to her cheery mood! I then accompanied her to school to volunteer with her 3rd grade doing a booth at a job fair. I was a furniture saleswoman. Super fun!
One of the perks of having school on your birthday is mom picking up lunch from a restaurant of Kanani's choice (she chose Panda Express)and bringing it to the cafeteria to eat with her amidst all her cute friends. I got the scoop on what's going on in third grade...luckily it was all good! Then later that day I was chosen by her teacher to come into the class and be the "mystery reader." The mystery being "who's parent is going to come and read today?" So, needless to say, I got to see quite a lot of my birthday girl while she was at school! Her teacher even suggested I take her home early on account of her birthday! No hesitation on our part, we came home and played a game called "Mall Madness" with dad and Alakai. After her shortened piano lesson (a gift from her piano teacher...thank you!)she gathered all of her siblings and spent an hour or so painting her porcelain tea set she got for her birthday(for her American Doll). What a bunch of artists I have!

We ended the day eating at Winger's for dinner because what's a birthday without an asphalt pie, right?! We love you Kanani!
