Happy 7th Birthday Kekoa!

My son has turned 7! Where does the time go? He told me the night before his birthday that there was no way he was going to sleep well and I told him, "You'll sleep like the dead as always!" Well guess what? He slept horribly, the excitement was just too much! Morning came and me and the girls and Alakai went into his room to wake him up by singing "Happy Birthday"..tradition. Since Keawe wouldn't be in town until later that day I told Kekoa that maybe we should wait until later to open presents. His response was- "So I slept horribly for nothing!" followed by tears! Well after much consoling and talking to Dad on the phone, we were able to talk him into opening just one present, promising he would NOT be disappointed. He agreed, but first I made his favorite breakfast of waffles.
The night before, I put Anela and Kanani in charge of wrapping his presents which they LOVED doing! After they were done they hid them around the house. So we guided him to the spot where that one present was he could open. He found it, opened it..it was Indiana Jones Lego game for the Wii. Much excitement! It kept the kids busy until it was time for our movie. (that is what Kekoa chose for our activity) His best friend, Ian Cheney, Ian's mom, Jill, and Ian's brother, Jackson, came with us to the movie "Hotel For Dogs"...hmmmm....kids loved it, I guess that's all that matters right? Not long after that Keawe came home delivering the BMX bike that was Kekoa's wish. After finding the rest of the presents we went out to dinner to Panda Express. (super hard for mom since Zupas was right next door) We ended the day with Coldstone ice cream. (as every birthday should end, right?!)

On Sunday we were able to celebrate his birthday with my family. He received some Bakugan toys and money towards a RipStik that he's saving for. Thanks everyone!

A week later, we had another birthday party with the Naluai family...and yes he received more money! Thanks everyone! Kaylani and Jared like to take the kids out on a birthday date as their present and this year they went to Classic Skating..super fun!! They forgot the camera, so we'll get pictures next year!
