Kekoa turns 9...the Last Single Digit!

Kekoa's birthday also fell on a Sunday, so that meant we played on Saturday.  The day started off with his Birthday breakfast of German pancakes because not only was his birthday on a Sunday, it was also Fast Sunday! After breakfast, he begged to open one gift and we complied because it was something he could play with the family (video game) until it was time for our other activities. This was his off year for a friend's party so we asked him what he would like to do as a family. He didn't even hesitate when he said, "Play Laser-tag somewhere!" We let him invite his best friend, Ian, and we headed on over to Laser Quest for a fun 30 minute game with 27 other kids...Anela would like me to add that she received the highest score out of us..followed by MOM:) Who would have guessed, right? Mom beat Dad! Not going to boast of course. After this, Kekoa wanted Subway for dinner.  Wow, he has such inexpensive tastes, I love it! Picked up some ice cream on the way home..it was a good day!

On his real birthday he was able to open the rest of his presents, shown above.  Grandma Naluai was in Virginia taking care of Kuuipo's family while they recovered from multiple sicknesses so she shipped his present to us. It was a really fun game and we spent the morning playing it until it was ready to go to church. After church we drove up to Brian and April's home for Super Bowl Sunday/Birthday festivities. (yes, he had to share that one:) Another fun day, except for the fact that his team, The Stealers, did not win the Super Bowl.

I had to put the above photo of cute 2 year old Trisha pretending to be asleep so she wouldn't have to smile (or look!) at the camera..Grandpa tugged on her ear to which she replied, "Shhhhh, I'm sleeping!" What a character!

A week later, we celebrated Kekoa's birthday with the Naluai's. He had asked Auntie Tiare and Uncle Jonny for some colorful duct tape and received 4 rolls of the stuff. Tiare said that it was the strangest gift she has ever given:) He has made numerous wallets, an Ipod holder, and would like to create something really cool..like a backpack.
