We pulled the kids out of school and went on our "we promise we'll go every three years" trip to Disneyland! (Poor Anela is still making up her absences from 7th grade..thank goodness for the 10 hour drive to and from California) Upon arriving, we checked into our hotel and drove to Natalie and Brian's house where my sisters and their families, Grandma and Grandpa Hale, and Alakai were waiting for us. Because they would all be joining in on the fun as well!! Alakai was lucky to fly two days earlier with Grandma and Grandpa Hale on an airplane..he was ecstatic! Not only did he get to fly, but he also got to have a sleepover with cousins, Ethan, Kendra, Trisha, and Annie. We had a fun weekend watching conference, celebrating Angela's birthday, and visiting together as we anticipated the excitement of the next few days in DISNEYLAND!
Here is the classic photo at the front gate...The weather forecast for our days in Disneyland was rain, rain, rain...did we care? Well, no, although Anela did mention that "Disneyland is a lot more magical in the sunshine, mom." I agree, but we sure had a blast anyways! Thank goodness for the dry spells we were blessed with at times! Our favorite rides? Dad, Anela, Kanani's and Alakai: Tower of Terror (rode 7 times). Mom's favorite rides: Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones, and Space Mountain (rode each twice), Kekoa's favorite ride: California Screamin (rode 7 times). We rode everthing else once or twice or three times...there are definite advantages to wet weather-- crowd control!
We love you Disneyland! See you in three years!
