Kekoa's Baptism

Oh what a beautiful day to get baptized. I can't believe my third child has reached this special day. I remember so vividly Anela and Kanani's baptism like it was yesterday! Kekoa was baptized Saturday, February 20th along with 11 other children in our stake. There were about 400 people in the chapel! The talks were wonderful, the spirit was strong especially as I looked upon Kekoa dressed in white sitting beside his dad listening to every word of the talks spoken. It soon became our ward's turn to head into the Relief Society room where the font was. Grandpa Naluai and Grandpa Hale were the witnesses as Keawe baptized Kekoa. This was the first time I was able to be in the audience for the baptism. For the girls I was standing by the stairs to the font just outside of the bathroom with a towel with a great and quiet view. This time, with so many kids sitting at the front, I had to look up at the mirror to see!

Kekoa's best friend, Ian, was there to watch and afterwards he came up to Kekoa with tears in his eyes and asked him if he felt the spirit. Kekoa replied that yes, he had. Ian told him he remembered feeling the spirit when he was baptized last year. It was so sweet to watch that brief interaction between those cute friends.

Before we left the church we got a family picture in front of the Draper temple which is just next door. Beautiful, cold day!

We had reserved our church for the lunch after the baptism so that there would be plenty of room to play and visit with family and friends. We had Hawaiian haystacks and plenty of cookies! Yum! Kekoa had a lot of support from family and friends! Those in attendance at the baptism were Grandma and Grandpa Hale, Grandma and Grandpa Naluai, Auntie Natalie, Ethan, Annie (who flew in from California for this..thank you!), Auntie Angela, Uncle Blake, Kendra, Trisha, Auntie April, Quenton, Braden, Trevor, Grace, Auntie Tiare, Leila, Uncle Alika, Malia, Kala'i, Auntie Erika, Uncle Rob, Shawn, Jill, Jackson, Ian Cheney, Jason, Tiffany, Conner, Anika, Lucas, Trey, and Greta Grimes.
