Kanani is a Tenager!

My second little lady is a double digit..she told me that was a really big deal...and it is! She was a lucky girl this year to have her birthday fall on a Friday when there was NO SCHOOL! There was absolutely no sleeping in, however, as the anticipation was overwhelming for her! We sang the song, opened presents, and Dad made her a fabulous birthday breakfast of egg casserole before leaving for work. All this happened BEFORE 8:30 am.. whew! Then it was a little wait in which we made two batches of brownies and beautified ourselves before her girlfriends arrived for her birthday party at 12:30.

She and her good friend, Ellie Sorensen, share the same birthday and decided that they wanted to celebrate their birthdays together with a dual party. They chose to have their party at Murray Ice Center and go ice skating. The day before the party, Jen Sorensen (Ellie's mom) and I made scarves for all of the girls attending the party. The party was so much fun! We had some girls who were experiencing ice skating for the first time and they did an awesome job! It was a fun group of girls!

We took a quick break and had brownies and fruit pizza and then opened presents...

After the incredibly fun party, we came home and dropped off our stuff. Grandpa and Grandma Hale met us at the house with their gift to Kanani...a BIG soft blanket that Grandma made.

We then went to dinner at Wingers..

Followed by going to the movie, "The Lightning Thief."

Crazy, fun, busy day! Love you sweetie!

Two days later we had the Naluai's come over for Sunday dinner and presents!!
