The kids had a fun time this past weekend making a gigantic fort in the basement. They begged to sleep in it so we obliged on Saturday night. The next morning there were complaints of a little uncomfort from sleeping on the floor( all but Anela who opted to sleep on the comfy couch--smart girl!), but basically they had there own "suite" so it was a bit of fun...BIG clean up though!

Forts are the best! We (daddy mostly) make them all the time :) Something about the "your own space" that makes them so desirable!
Oh, the memories of making forts! I loved making them - did not love cleaning them up! On some fort making Sunday Afternoons we would take the mattresses off the beds and jump fom the top bunk bed to land on them. One time Karen and Steven completely swapped their rooms. Mattresses, all the clothes in the dressers. . . everything - also not fun having to clean up.
Way fun!! Brian totally wants a basement just so he can send the kids down stairs to hang out on their own...maybe they'll actually stay there if we build them a fort!
