Happy Easter!

We had a fabulous Easter spent with our families. The weather was cooperative and springy!! Yeah! We kicked off the weekend with an Easter egg hunt at Grandpa and Grandma Hale's house with cousins. (We missed you Ethan and Annie!) Angela, April, and I each brought eggs and kits to color them...grandma's table is almost not big enough! Good thing for extensions! Every year we get a little bigger, I love it! Here are the cousins (and moms and dads to supervise) coloring the eggs..

After the eggs were all done, the cousins congregated downstairs to watch a movie and await the arrival of the Easter Bunny...well, they didn't actually make it downstairs, just ON the stairs because who can wait so far away when there is candy being hidden right outside the windows! After verifying that the bunny had come, there was a mad dash to retrieve baskets and shoes and on Uncle Brian's command....they were off! Every cousin was assigned a shape to find on their eggs in order to claim them...what a great idea Auntie April! After it was all over, we enjoyed the sunshine by jumping, swinging, and talking. What a fun day!

After church we all headed up to Alika and Amber's house for our Easter celebration with the Naluai's. The cousins (we missed you Keana, David, Leah, and Emma!) colored a million eggs (at least) with three different kits. I don't think kids ever tire of coloring eggs! Poor Malia was not feeling well at all and just watched the kids while resting on the table. After a good purge though, Malia was up for the rest of the activities with smiles! While the kids went outside to play, the Easter bunny came and hid plastic eggs filled with candy and MONEY downstairs in the basement. It was so funny because their was definite bartering going on between the youngest and the oldest. The oldest would trade candy for money and everyone was happy! Next we adjourned outside because while the kids were finding the eggs downstairs, the Easter bunny was hiding the real eggs outside! Again we enjoyed the sunshine with scooter races, learning the ripstik, riding bikes, and just visiting. Such a fun Easter!

We missed being there! Especially what looked like to be a beautiful spring day! We're glad the easter bunny knew that we were here instead...maybe next year he'll have received a 'change of address'. we can dream, right?!
