Wow, can May be any busier?!?! Most of it is fun busy though. It is my December all over again, just springtime activities instead...My favorite is to look at my calendar at the beginning of each day and think, "REALLY?!" and then at the end of the day to fall exhausted in my bed with a smile (yeah, ok not every night) on my face because I have accomplished the impossible. Alaka'i is at this very moment at his last day of preschool before his summer break. There goes my (potentially) two quiet mornings!
Here are the fun things that have been going on this month:
The girls have been in Clayton Productions now for 6 years! Anela made it into the group, "Good News" and Kanani is in the group "Rhythm" along with her friends, Anika and Whitney. Life sure gets crazy with all of the performances they have throughout the valley, but it brings such a joy to my heart to watch them. I complain about the inconvenience of it at times, but once I'm there watching these kids perform, I love it! Anela's group has two medleys they perform, "Disney songs" and "broadway tunes." Kanani's group sings a medley from "Wicked." Super cute!
Here is the field trip that I went on with Kanani to the zoo. (and remembered my camera) She is pictured with her cute friend, Nicole. I also went with Anela and her class to Classic Skating, and Kekoa and his class to Harmons, the park, and the animal farm at Thanksgiving Point. These trips all happened within a week of each other....sigh.
Kekoa has been taking classes in Tae Kwon Do and LOVING it! Last weekend he advanced from white belt to yellow belt at his belt ceremony. You know when you find something, whether it be dance or a sport or art classes or whatever, that you KNOW is meant for your child? This is that thing for Kekoa. I am looking forward to his accomplishments in this program. Master Kim is an amazing instructor!
Oh, the many baseball games this month as well. Kekoa started coach pitch this year which has been fun to watch. It is very basic, no score keeping or strike outs, just teaching the kids how to hit the ball and then run the bases when they're up to bat, and teaching them how to catch the ball and throw it to first base when they are on the field. Quite entertaining!
We also had a great Memorial Day weekend with family. My mom came up with the idea to have a ginormous sleepover at her house Sunday night. We tried to bribe Natalie and Brian and their kids into flying down for it, but she is in the middle of potty-training Ethan at the moment..say no more! Blake and Angela and their kids (Kendra being in the potty-training stage as well!), Brian and April and their kids, Rob and Erika, and us came together Sunday night to create havoc at mom and dad's house! We'll see if they dare ask that again! No, really, it was so fun for the cousins and siblings to spend that time together. Monday was spent visiting the graves of Grandma Hale, Grandma and Grandpa Green, and Great Grandma and Grandpa Green. We then took a drive to Heber and ate lunch at a infamous hamburger joint there known for their shakes..yummy! A couple of hours later we BBQ'd back at Mom and Dad's (much to our stomach's dismay) and then rounded up our herds and headed home. I can just hear the ginormous sigh of that house as we all left!
Last but not least, Alakai's preschool graduation! (until next year of course when he starts preschool again) They performed a couple of songs, counted to 100, were presented their certificates, and then threw their hats into the air. It was really a fun group of kids this year. A couple of them that are moving on to Kindergarten actually cried at the end while watching a slideshow of their past year. So sweet!
What a great month it has been!
