Alakai is my first child to attend preschool at three years old. My friend, Tiffany, was part of a co-op preschool last year and I opted to join them this year. All the moms take a month to be the teacher, and March was my month. I have been forced (willingly of course) to tap into my creative side! (which isn't huge, thank goodness for the internet!) I chose to do my units on the weather, colors, and seasons. They all go together, right? I truly have had a blast with these cute kids! Creating a fine balance between projects, lessons, snack, wiggle time, story time, and of course the daily drama of mending hurt feelings and encouraging kind, respectful behavior in the middle of all of this was....phew!! They are a cute group and I really enjoyed myself! I had the kids wear the color of the day and tried to find snacks to coincide with those colors. The kids enjoyed guessing what I would come up with. Every week represented a season and letter as well. First week was winter, second week was spring and the letter "S", third was summer and the letter "T", fourth was fall and the letter "U". I wish I remembered to take pictures every day...darn! We had a great time..I'm going to miss those cute, happy, sad, mad, funny faces of theirs!

Enjoying a "Blue popscicle" (on blue day) outside for our "summer" unit.

Well looks like you really did have fun! So next year when Kendra starts I'll just send her to your house.. Agreed? Good! :)
You did a great job! So glad you are in our group! Love ya, love ya!
What a cool idea! You will have to explain how that works when I get closer to needing a preschool for our little guy. You are so creative!
Your creative juices will flow and flow...you'll need a Preschool journal to keep those ideas somewhere on your 'off' months. That is an awesome things you're a part of!
